About this plan
On 1 November the church keeps All Saints’ Day, remembering those who have gone before. This plan spends the week from that day with the saints of Scripture: the great cloud of witnesses in Hebrews 11 and 12, and the ordinary people God used, many of them known only by a name.
Day 1 reads Hebrews 11, the chapter of faith, and the call to run the race that follows it. Day 2 is Revelation 7, the great multitude in white, and day 3 the Beatitudes in Matthew 5. Day 4 returns to Abraham, who believed God’s promise of countless descendants, and day 5 to Hannah, who prayed for a son and gave him to the Lord. On day 6 Paul, once a persecutor, is called in Acts 9, and Romans 16 greets by name the friends and fellow workers of the early church. The week ends with Paul’s last letter in 2 Timothy 4.
