About this plan

The Bible shows God as a healer and also shows faithful people who stayed ill, so this plan does not promise a particular outcome. It reads a week of passages about healing in its many forms, of body, of heart and of a broken relationship with God, and about a God who stays with the sick.

Day 1 offers three psalms: Psalm 103 on the God who heals, and Psalms 41 and 6, prayed from a sickbed. Day 2 reads Matthew 8–9, where Jesus heals from a man with leprosy to a girl who had died, and day 3 reads Mark 5 and John 9. Day 4 tells of Naaman, healed in the Jordan, and King Hezekiah’s illness. Isaiah 53 and Psalm 107 fill day 5, the apostles heal in Acts 3–4 on day 6, and the week ends with Jeremiah 30 and Psalm 147, where God heals the brokenhearted.

Healing and medicine are not rivals. If you are ill, let this plan keep you company alongside your doctor’s care, not instead of it.
