About this plan
Proverbs has 31 chapters, so it fits a month exactly. This plan gives you the chapter that matches the date: on the 9th you read Proverbs 9, and on the 1st you begin again. Read it a dozen times a year and different lines catch you each time.
The first nine chapters are a father’s urgent advice to his son, with Wisdom herself calling out in the street. From chapter 10 the book turns to short, vivid sayings about work, money, speech, anger and friendship. Chapter 30 gathers the sayings of Agur, and chapter 31 ends with the words a king’s mother taught him and a portrait of a capable, generous woman.
Each reading is short and complete, which makes it easy to tie to a morning routine. A few minutes is enough.
