About this plan

Each day of the week remembers a different part of the life of Jesus, a pattern many churches have kept for centuries: Sunday for the resurrection, Friday for the cross and, in several traditions, Wednesday for the betrayal. Every day is a single chapter, so the whole week is light.

Sunday is John 20, the empty tomb and Thomas. Monday is Hebrews 1 on who the Son is, and Tuesday his baptism in Matthew 3. Wednesday’s Matthew 26 covers the plot against him, the last supper and Gethsemane. Thursday is the gift of the Spirit at Pentecost in Acts 2, Friday the crucifixion in John 19, and Saturday the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4 that he will return.

It suits anyone who wants a small weekly habit that keeps Jesus at the centre. Because it follows the days of the week, it works in any week of the year.
